Number four in Louisville
It’s another expansion in the USA for Arvato as the supply chain and e-commerce provider gains 90,000 sqm of space near Louisville, Kentucky. The company will use the new site to handle logistics and fulfilment for two tech industry customers. It will be its fourth distribution centre in the greater Louisville area.
Mitat Aydindag, president of North America at Arvato: “Louisville perfectly complements our West Coast locations allowing us to fully cover the US footprint with our services.”
The city is connected to a high-capacity highway system as well as a freight hub. Located in the nearby Shephersville, the warehouse will be powered by green electricity. Various automation systems have been put in place, such as a sorting system, automatic pallet wrappers and Stretch robots from Boston Dynamics for unloading floor-loaded trucks and containers. (mk)
