Peterbilt expands electric vehicle offerings
Peterbilt has launched its new electric vehicle (EV) lineup featuring medium-duty models 536EV, 537EV and 548EV, aimed at enhancing zero-emissions capabilities and addressing diverse customer needs. These vehicles are built on proven platforms with zero tailpipe emissions and integrate advanced safety technologies. Eric Johnson, the assistant general manager, highlighted their efficiency, rapid charging and versatile configurations to boost productivity in various applications.
The 536EV and 537EV are designed for regional delivery and utility trucks, while the 548EV supports 4x2 tractors and vocational uses. Key features include battery capacity options with a maximum range of 280 miles, rapid 350kW DC charging, and customisable layouts. The Paccar ePowertrain, offering dual electric motors and regenerative braking, supports configurations with a gross combined weight of up to 42,000 kg. Peterbilt also provides a complete charging infrastructure to facilitate EV deployment, ensuring cleaner operations for customers.
