Qatar Airways intends to buy five more B777Fs
Earlier this week, the US airframe manufacturer Boeing and Qatar Airways signed a letter of intent to purchase five B777 freighters, valued at USD 1.7 billion at list prices.
"The addition of five B777Fs is a significant moment for our cargo division," said HE Al Baker, chief executive of the Qatar Airways Group which currently operates a fleet of nearly 100 Boeing widebody airplanes, including 13 B777Fs and two B747-8Fs, and has about 100 more Boeing airplanes on order.
Boeing Commercial Airplanes president & CEO Kevin McAllister commented: "We are honoured that an international cargo carrier recognises the unmatched capabilities of the B777F and wants to buy more to lift its growing freight operations." (ah)
