Rail emissions slashed in Canada

Canada’s freight railways have reduced their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions intensity – the rail sector’s carbon footprint relative to its traffic – by 41.7% since 1990, despite a 76.8% traffic increase during the same period. The figures stem from a report published by the Railway Association of Canada (RCA).
