Rail service also for very small quantities
Finland-based Nurminen Logistics has purchased the Swedish railway logistics company Essinge Rail. This acquisition will make it a significant railway operator in the growing freight market between the Nordic countries and Continental Europe, Nurminen said. The purchase is part of the company’s internationalisation and growth strategy that aims to expand its railway network and service offering in Europe.
Essinge Rail has an extensive less than container load (LCL) service in Europe, which enables small companies to use low-emission rail transports without the need to buy the entire container to get their goods on board the train. One pallet or even a few boxes are enough. (ben)
