Regular container train connecting Yiwu and Moscow

Fesco, a Russian transport group, has launched a weekly container train from Yiwu, a city in China's Zhejiang province, to Moscow, via Mongolia, thus expanding inland services between China and Russia.

The first train with imported cargo recently completed the trip in 14 days. The transit time was three times faster than through the Suez Canal, according to Fesco.

The new service is routed through the border crossings of Erlian/Zamyn-Uud/Naushki. Fesco transports cargo using its own platforms and containers. The service primarily focusses on the delivery of consumer goods from China. The company plans to haul 400 - 500 teu per month. (ben)
