Regular full-length container trains en route to China
Russia-based UTLC ERA and the Belarusian freight forwarder Belintertrans (BTLC) have developed a technology for forming and forwarding full-length container trains from Belarus to China.
The trains pass through a new waypoint - namely Lupolovo station - from where a train, hauling 40 x 40 ft containers stuffed with powdered milk, is currently en route to Chungking.
The provision of high speed and competitive railway services is a new business field for UTLC ERA. Two months after the first container was sent from Brest to Chengdu, Belarus was able to boost its exports to China with the start of regular rail services to Chungking, Chengdu, and Zhengzhou. (ben)
