Regular weekly train connects Russia and China

Russia-based Fesco has expanded its network of overland export routes and launched a regular container train from Krasnoyarsk (Russia) to Beijing (China) via the Grodekovo (Primorsky Krai) / Sunfeihe (China) border check point.

The route is served on a weekly basis. The travel time is twelve days, six days in Russia and six days in China. Non-mineral products exported to China will be the main cargoes shipped along the new route.

The first train, loaded with sawn timber, arrived from Krasnoyarsk in Sunfeihe last week. The cargo was re-loaded onto the rolling stock for a 1,435 track gauge and delivered to its destination in Xiangyin (China). (ben)
