Rhenus Switzerland's turnover decreases
In 2019, Rhenus Alpina's Swiss operations generated total revenues of CHF 341 million (2018: CHF 346 million). The acquisition of the Interfracht Group will enable the company to expand its range of services during the current year. Rhenus Logistics reported significant growth in the 2019 financial year.
Consequently, capacity utilisation at its logistics centres reached 90%, while the productivity of order processing was improved through a series of investments aimed at enhancing the operational software environment. In 2019, the market for air freight contracted significantly. This decline was already discernible at the beginning of the year and posed various challenges for the air cargo business.
“Despite the crisis, we will continue to develop steadily this year too, modernising our infrastructures through innovative solutions and increased digitalisation of our processes,” says Andreas Stöckli, CEO of Rhenus Alpina. (mw)
