Rhenus takes over C. Spaarmann Logistics

The Rhenus Group has agreed to take over all the shares in the forwarder C. Spaarmann Logistics. The medium-sized company, which is headquartered in Forst in the German state of Brandenburg, specialises in both customs and transport logistics services. In addition to its Forst headquarters the firm has customs offices in Forst, Frankfurt/Oder, Hamburg and Duisburg Ruhrort and branches in Dinslaken and Hamburg.

“C. Spaarmann Logistics enhances our business operations in two different ways: through its extensive customs business and its transport services, particularly to countries in the Commonwealth of Independent States,” Thomas Kaulbach, Rhenus' head of the European customs committee, said.

Kaulbach and Rhenus Freight East MD Bernd Stichel have been appointed as the new executive directors of C. Spaarmann Logistics. The previous majority shareholder and sole managing director, Hans-Peter Otto, will remain on board in an advisory capacity. (mw)
