Salzburg - Trieste piggyback service resumed
The truck-on-train service between Salzburg (Austria) and Trieste-Fernetti (Italy) has been resumed after a two month break. Once again, six trains per week run on the corridor and shift around 6,000 HGVs from road to rail.
After the link was terminated in March 2018, Turkey-based U.N. Ro-Ro, the operator at the time, said that demand for the rolling motorway service had risen, particularly from Turkish transporters.
U.N. Ro-Ro therefore decided to resume the Salzburg – Trieste ro-mo service in collaboration with the Rail Cargo Group. (ben)
