Scottish carrier starts fleet renewal with full freighters

Glasgow (UK)-based regional carrier Loganair is replacing its ageing Saab fleet with ATR. The first aircraft to be substituted will be the freighters. Danish aviation service provider Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC) confirmed that it has delivered one ATR 72-500 to Loganair on lease. Prior to delivery, the aircraft was converted to a freighter configuration by NAC, providing Loganair with a 75 cbm capacity / 7.5 t payload aircraft to operate on behalf of one of its major customers.

Loganair is the UK’s fifth largest airline by number of flights, operating 44 aircraft on a network covering over 40 destinations in the UK and the rest of Europe. In addition to its scheduled services, the airline operates contract and charter services for several large companies across the distribution, oil & gas and airline wet-lease sectors. (ah)
