Securing transatlantic capacity
The GSSA Aviacargo, headquartered in New York and founded in 2001, has performed a series of record-breaking flights between Bournemouth (BOH) in the UK and New York JFK. Operating the bellies of European Cargo’s A340-600 freighters, the company carried 55 t on a series of flights at the end of May and the start of June.
President Michael Cox: "The loss of transatlantic capacity as a result of the pandemic as seen an urgent requirement for reliable service between Europe and the USA. Our aim throughout has been to give freight and logistics companies a service they could rely on."
Capacity constraints elsewhere in the market and the short-notice withdrawal of flights has seen demand for consistency being highly valued by the forwarding community both in the US and in Europe. (ah)
