Serbia: signalling upgrade on Belgrade-Bar line
Construction work on phase one of the upgrade to the Serbian section of the Belgrade-Bar (Montenegro) line has started. The pioneering rail control project on the 77.6 km long Resnik-Valjevo section is being jointly delivered by Bombardier Transportation and Russian Railways International.
The latter is undertaking the signalling upgrade on behalf of Serbian Railways. The 287 km Serbian section of the Belgrade-Bar Line is the country’s longest rail connection. The Resnik-Valjevo project is a landmark step towards the first complete modernisation of the Serbian line in 40 years of operation. (ben)
