Singpost launches Smart Post and last mile solution
Singapore Post (Singpost) launched its Smart Post suite of postal solutions and unveiled its latest next-generation logistics platform last mile platform (Lamp) on 5 November.
The technology brings together retailers and logistics providers to create open e-commerce ecosystems that offer businesses control and flexibility with their parcel deliveries.
In addition Singpost went live with Smart Post. All of Singpost’s 1,000 postmen and postwomen use a mobile app, in conjunction with Near Field Communication (NFC) tags installed at about 15,000 delivery points. The system allows the tracking of deliveries and electronic signing-over of registered mail in the current phase.
Singpost CEO Paul Coutts said: “Smart Post and Lamp build on our culture of innovation, harnessing technology to enhance our strengths in postal and logistics operations, and advance our position as an e-commerce logistics and postal provider." (mw)
