South Carolina Ports blossom


The South Carolina (SC) Ports Authority on the US East Coast finished 2020 with its strongest throughput in December so far. The ports handled almost 210,000 teu at Wando Welch and North Charleston container terminals in December, up 11.6% compared to December 2019.

 

SC Ports has handled more than 1.2 million teu thus far in fiscal year 2021, which started in July 2020. Loaded imports were up 14.4% and loaded exports were up 8.6%. Ro-ro volumes amounted to 21,200 vehicles in December, which is a 29.2% increase from last year.

 

In fiscal year 2021, SC Ports has so far moved almost 136,000 vehicles across the docks at Columbus Street Terminal, which is up 17.42% compared to the same period in 2019. (cd)
