UN Rail launches new Trieste–Battembourg shuttle
Transport provider UN-RoRo has launched a rail shuttle service between Trieste (Italy) and Battembourg (Luxembourg). The train will make four round trips per week until 12 October and then six round trips per week from 13 October 2014. Each train will have a capacity for eight semi trailers.
From 13 October, 48 places per week will be available in each direction. During the first four weeks, departures from Trieste will be at 20.30 on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The return leg will depart at 07.00 from the Battembourg terminal on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The latest boarding time in Battembourg is 03.00.
The new service is suitable for conveying standard semi trailers (with no additional semi trailer investment), cranable semi trailers, containers and swap bodies. (ben)
