USA: big merger in road haulage sector
Knight-Swift Transportation has acquired 100% of Dothan (Alabama)-based less-than-truckload (LTL) carrier AAA Cooper Transportation and an affiliated entity for the price of USD 1.35 billion.
AAA Cooper will continue to operate independently, while benefitting from the many synergies anticipated from the merger. AAA Cooper is expected to generate USD 780 million in revenue in 2021.
The haulier serves its US blue-chip customer list with a fleet of nearly 3,000 tractors and 7,000 trailers and its extensive network of 70 facilities, consisting of a terminal door count of over 3,400. Knight-Swift is a provider of multiple transportation and logistics services in North America and Mexico. (ben)
