USA: Go-ahead for Uinta Basin Railway in Utah

The US-based Seven County infrastructure coalition board has decided that Drexel Hamilton will finance, develop and construct a new freight line called Uinta Basin Railway within a public-private partnership.

The new railway line in Utah will connect the Uinta Basin’s various industries to the national rail network. Once in operation, Rio Grande Pacific will operate and maintain the railway.

Drexel Hamilton has already successfully developed and built a USD 2.5 billion crude oil terminal complex called Plaquemines liquid terminal which is served by the New Orleans & Gulf Coast Railway, a short line railroad owned by Rio Grande Pacific. (ben)
