Valais selects board member for BLS
Switzerland: the government of the canton of Valais has delegated Stefanie Zimmermann to the board of directors of the railway company BLS. The new cantonal representative succeeds Viola Amherd, who has been elected to the country’s Federal Council.
Zimmermann has been politically active as a municipal councillor in Visp (canton Valais) since 2017. The business economist works for the Visp branch office of the Raiffeisenbank. Zimmermann is married and lives in Visp.
Based in Bern, BLS, Switzerland’s second largest railway company, provides passenger and freight transport services, as well as operating bus and ship connections. (mw)
