Von Boxberg becomes Lufthansa Cargo CEO

Peter Gerber (left), chairman of the executive board of Lufthansa Cargo since May 2014, will succeed Dieter Vranckx, the next CEO of Swiss, as CEO of Brussels Airlines.

Gerber will take up his position in Belgium on 1 March 2021. Together with Nina Öwerdieck, CFO of Brussels Airlines, and Edi Wolfensberger, COO of the Belgian airline, he will continue to implement the company's "reboot plus" turnaround plan.

Dorothea von Boxberg (right) is proposed to succeed Gerber as CEO and chairwoman of the executive board of Lufthansa Cargo. She has been in the aviation business for 15 years and joined Deutsche Lufthansa in 2007.

Five years ago, von Boxberg moved to Lufthansa Cargo, where she initially headed global sales management before being appointed CCO in 2018, advancing to the executive board. Her successor as CCO will be announced at a later date. (ah)
