VTG on shopping spree in USA
VTG Rail North America has acquired the wagon fleet of the US freight car lessor Redwood Rail, thus boosting its own fleet by 1,135 wagons to a total of 5,200.
The Redwood fleet further diversifies the portfolio of the US subsidiary of the German company VTG by the addition of bulk freight cars for hauling grain, cement, sand and plastic products, as well as special wagons for transporting logs.
VTG also gains new major customers by taking over Redwood’s existing leases. The new clients include two class 1 railroads and a large commodities company. (ben)
