VTG’s CEO to step down after 17 years

Heiko Fischer, current CEO of the German international wagon hire and rail logistics company VTG, headquartered in Hamburg, will step down from his duties as chairman of the executive board on 30 June 2021, but will retain close ties to VTG as senior advisor for activities, particularly in political and governmental affairs.

Working with VTG for more than 25 years, and serving for 17 years as its CEO, Fischer has given “entrepreneurial dedication” to the company and developed its international business, as meant in a press release.

Chairman of the supervisory board of VTG, Jost Massenberg: “For more than 17 years, Fischer has been tirelessly, rigorously, and successfully planning and implementing the transformation of VTG into a European market leader in the railfreight sector. In parallel, he has driven international expansion into other markets as well as being the human face of VTG, the visual embodiment of the values for which we stand.” (amh)
