Zero-emission trucks replacing diesel vehicles
The US state of California, the San Bernardino council of governments and partners Daylight Transport and BYD Motors have celebrated the arrival of the first of 27 next-generation, zero-emission electric yard and service trucks in three disadvantaged Californian communities.
The USD 20 million project, part of California climate investments, represents a step toward the commercialization of heavy duty, advanced, zero-emission technologies. Over the two year duration of the demonstration project, the zero-emission trucks are expected to cut out about 3,500 t of CO2, 1,480 kg of NOx and 80 kg of diesel soot. (ben)
