Zim launching ZMI service
The Haifa-based Israeli shipping line Zim Integrated Shipping Services is launching a new service, called ZMI, linking the Indian Subcontinent to the Eastern Mediterranean.
The carrier will deploy four 4,250 teu vessels on this new route, serving Mundra, Nhava Sheva, Colombo, Haifa, Mersin and Istanbul before returning to Mundra. The ZMI is due to commence operations in January 2022, replacing the ZIE and ZII services.
The ZMI option will be operated exclusively by Zim. Rani Ben Yehuda, Zim's executive vice-presidfent for cross Suez and the Atlantic trade, will be in charge of the new service. (sh)
