New trailers for Kolbe Spedition
The German company Heinz Kolbe KG Spedition, a transport specialist for food, paper rolls and beverages, has been deploying Kögel trailers since 1993. Now the company has decided to purchase five new, 1.3 m longer Kögel trailers in order to further reduce CO2 emissions.
Each new Euro Trailer Cargo Rail has space for a total of 37 Euro pallets. That is four pallet slots more than a standard trailer! The ecological and economic benefits for Kolbe are clear: up to 10% less fuel consumption, up to 10% fewer CO2 emissions, and – with an average utilisation rate of 80% – every tenth journey can be eliminated.
Based on the legal requirements in Germany, these longer trailers can also be used for intermodal transport. Karl Thiel, managing director of Heinz Kolbe, pointed out: "We have already had one of the longer Euro Trailers in our fleet since 2006, and we are really pleased to be adding another five longer trailers."
