13-14/2020 Video to kill the Covid star

Covid-19, aka the coronavirus, and its effects currently influence the lives of billions of people all around the globe. When this issue of the ITJ went to press, Italy had been sealed off – though the country also reported segments that were coping very well with the restrictions. These included the goods transport industry, as ITJ editor-in-chief Christian Doepgen illustrates in our ‘In Focus’ article on page 8.

In many other fields efforts to prevent the virus from spreading faster have resulted in changed working patterns. Many a conference has already been conducted by video link, and the numerous cancelled and postponed trade fairs have prompted companies to transfer the presentation of new products to the internet.

The latest innovation of your publisher of the ITJ, Swiss Professional Media, is also linked to this need. Our in-house streaming server, which can handle a very large number of users simultaneously, enables you to host quality videos. This isn’t only of interest to companies whose websites don’t have the capacities to cope with intensive video streaming. The complex production process for a professional video can also be entrusted to us – on site or by remote link. At the ITJ’s headquarters in Basel we have a studio with all the necessary equipment to produce attractive moving images. This new opportunity is available with immediate effect. Of course it hasn’t only been designed for those affected by the virus, but for all firms seeking to give their audiovisual appearance a long-term boost in this age of digitalisation.
