Dear readers

Some transformations unfold quietly. And then there are developments that are impossible to ignore. In this issue of the ITJ Magazine, complemented by an integrated airfreight special, one thing becomes clear: logistics once again stands at a crossroads. And this time it is not just the market that is changing – it is the system itself.

We are living in an era of global realignment. Supply chains are being redefined, made more resilient, and digitally intertwined. Those who move goods across continents today are not merely acting operationally – they are actively shaping geopolitical reality. Strategic junctions are shifting, and with them a central question re-emerges: where will logistics begin tomorrow? Where there once were interfaces, networks are now forming. And where transitions used to suffice, continuous transparency is now required – digital, cross-border, reliable.

The focus of this edition lies on projects that address exactly this: building bridges between infrastructures, markets and technologies. The planned “Pier 500” at the port of Los Angeles is one such example – as is the expansion of terminal capacities along major corridors. The second anchor point of this issue is the integrated airfreight special, which offers a close look at a sector repositioning itself strategically for the future.

The editorial team wishes you an inspiring and insightful read!
