ITJ 40-41/2024
Dear readers,
Germany is trade fair country for the transport and logistics industry. Two key events for us – IAA Transportation in Hanover and Innotrans in Berlin – took place in September, and now two more meetings in Germany come hard on their heels in October.
The first sees the International Association of Ports and Harbors (IAPH) stage its annual World Ports Conference (WPC) in Hamburg from 8-10 October – the third time after 1985 and 2015 that it’s been welcomed in the Hanseatic city. Last year’s meeting in Abu Dhabi was attended by 700 delegates from 60 countries (see page 6 of ITJ 47-48 / 2023). I’m looking forward to some interesting insights in Hamburg – and to meeting a few of you personally there.
Thence to the capital Berlin, where the German logistics association BVL is putting on its annual get-together from 23-25 October. After 40 years it’s no longer called the German Logistics Congress, however, but has been renamed ‘BVL Supply Chain CX’. We’ll see what that means when we’re there – and will report on all the news from the conference for you.
Our Germany Special in this issue will prepare you perfectly for the event.
Enjoy your read!
