Air Greenland resumes two-way traffic

Effective this week, Air Greenland resumes two-way traffic on the route linking Kangerlussuaq (SFJ) and Copenhagen (CPH), currently served three times weekly.

The airline resumed this route on early last month already, but flights were only bookable as one-way flight from Greenland, due to Greenland’s entry ban, in effect until today, 15 June 2020. Usually, these scheduled flights are operated with the carrier's only widebody aircraft, an A330-200.

When it suspended operations for maintenance reasons in March, one of the seven Dash 8-200 in the fleet of Air Greenland performed a record flight, returning from Denmark: The first ever nonstop flight - without passengers - from CPH to Nuuk (GOH) on 20 April was the longest flight operated by this turboprop aircraft, covering 3553 km in 7:52 h.
