Air One launches scheduled freighter link

Air One has launched its first scheduled freighter service, with a Boeing B747-400F flight from Hong Kong arriving at Englands East Midlands Airport (Ema) on 4 September with 109 t of goods on board.

Operated by affiliated carrier One Air, the service runs four times per week with late evening departures from Hong Kong and early morning arrivals in the UK, targeting e-commerce and electronics. From Ema cargo is distributed nationwide via Swissport’s feeder network to hubs including Heathrow, Manchester and Birmingham.

From 2020-2025 Air One operated more than 3,000 charter flights from Hong Kong, moving 300,000 t of freight. "Launching scheduled services is a significant step in Air One’s development and adds a third pillar to our business model, alongside wet lease and charter," said CCO Peter Scholten. (ah)
