ALAN celebrates 20 years of disaster relief logistics

The American Logistics Aid Network (ALAN) has celebrated its 20th anniversary on 30 October, honouring two decades of humanitarian impact powered by the logistics industry. Founded in 2005 after Hurricane Katrina, ALAN was created by 50 supply chain associations and business leaders to help relief organisations move critical supplies to disaster sites quickly and free of charge.

Since then, the Florida-based non-profit has supported more than 300 humanitarian groups during major US and international crises, helping deliver food, water and power to millions. Executive Director Kathy Fulton said ALAN’s mission remains the same: "We’re still proving that when the logistics community works together, we make disaster relief faster, more efficient, and more humane."
