bound4blue expands production capabilities
bound4blue has established outsourced production capabilities in China, enhancing its presence in Asia to meet growing demand for its eSAIL® wind propulsion systems. The company has formed strategic partnerships with leading Chinese firms to boost manufacturing, logistics and service capacity, solidifying its position as a global supplier of wind propulsion solutions. Located near Shanghai and the Yangtze river delta, the new facilities will enable the production of up to 100 eSAIL® units annually from 2026.
This expansion aims to reduce lead times and improve logistics efficiency while facilitating installations near key shipyards in China, South Korea and Japan. The partnerships, focusing initially on manufacturing and logistics, will extend to after-sales services as adoption of the technology increases. This initiative aligns with China’s sustainability goals and positions bound4blue to help shipowners achieve significant reductions in emissions and fuel consumption while promoting cleaner maritime operations.
