Brussels airport invests heavily in infrastructure
EUR 100 million will be ploughed into the development of ultramodern logistics buildings at Brussels airport up to 2021. Brussels Airport Company will invest in a 50,000 sqm building, with a direct apron connection, on the west side of Brucargo. Kuehne + Nagel, Dnata and WFS will benefit from the new infrastructure which will be specifically suited for handling high-quality and temperature-sensitive products.
The airport's existing handling buildings with direct access to the tarmac will also be redeveloped. The facility in which handling agent Swissport is active will be transformed into a modern storage and office space covering 30,000 sqm in all.
In 2019, Brinks will move into an additional new building that will provide a secure area dedicated to the transport of extremely valuable goods. (ah)
