CLH Group introduces sustainable newbuilding

The Madrid (Spain)-based CLH Group has made a new tanker part of its fleet. The “Castillo de Arteaga”, which was built in 2019, reduces SOx and NOx emissions by means of a hybrid “scrubber” in addition to a waste water treatment system certified by the international maritime organisation (IMO) and the United States coast guard (USCG).

With the incorporation, the CLH Group has two tankers to move fuel in a way that cannot be accomplished by the oil pipeline network. This incorporation fits in with the CLH’s sustainability strategy that aims to achieve a zero contribution to the carbon footprint, in line with the Paris agreements of December 2015 (COP 21) and the SDS. CLH plans to reduce its emissions by 50% until 2025 and to be a carbon neutral company by 2050. (mw)
