CMA CGM looks back in joy


The results for the French carrier CMA CGM and its logistics affiliates in Q3/2021 follow the current trend. While consolidated revenues amounted to USD 15.3 billion, almost doubling the figures of the same period in 2020, consolidated ebitda grew to USD 7.1 billion and net profit reached USD 5.6 billion. Nevertheless, the number of containers handled was 5.45 million teu in Q3/2021, 2.5% down from the same period last year.

 

Revenues from shipping almost doubled to USD 12.5 billion, as the average revenue was at USD 2.293/teu. From January till September 2021, the group's revenues now amount to USD 38.4 billion (+72%). The period's profit is at USD 11.2 billion, up from USD 746 million in 2020.

 

CMA CGM not only ordered ten new own vessels and chartered three units of 15,000 teu this year, but also added 800,000 new containers to its fleet over the last 15 months, increasing the total number to 4.8 million units. (sh)
