Cold-chain boost at AA Cargo

American Airlines Cargo has expanded its 'ExpediteTC°' service, strengthening cold-chain capabilities for pharmaceuticals and life sciences shipments.

Its 24/7 control tower now covers shipments in active temperature-controlled units, allowing real-time monitoring and intervention in case of delays. Online booking for passive 'ExpediteTC°' shipments with dry ice or gel packs was also launched in July, offering customers easier access.

The CEIV-certified life sciences facility in Philadelphia remains the flagship hub, with 2–25°C and frozen storage, active container charging and full backup power. Additional CEIV-certified stations at Miami, San Juan, Dallas/Fort Worth and New York JFK extend the network’s reach. With these investments, American aims to ensure critical therapies and biologics arrive "on time, on temperature" in its entire network of more than 150 cities. (ah)
