Damen expands UK support with I.M.E Group
Damen has announced the acquisition of Southampton-based I.M.E Group Ltd., marking a key step in expanding its UK services offering. The move follows close collaboration since the launch of Damen Services' UK Service Hub in 2021, aimed at providing comprehensive lifecycle support for Damen vessels and other maritime clients. By integrating I.M.E., Damen aims to deliver enhanced on-site support, engineering, docking, parts supply and maintenance services, boosting responsiveness and operational efficiency for UK-based operators.
Founded in 2006, I.M.E. specialises in 24/7 repair and maintenance support across the maritime and energy sectors. Its facilities and expertise, gained through a memorandum of understanding with Damen, complement Damen's strategic focus on local collaboration and fast, reliable support. Damen's recent expansion includes a new office in Portchester near a docking site, further strengthening its regional presence and service capacity, ensuring clients benefit from seamless, round-the-clock support.
