Deliveries up in Western Europe
In Q1/2015, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles delivered 108,200 light commercial vehicles worldwide, 4.8% more than in the like-for-like period in 2014. In Western Europe, the German producer increased deliveries of its brand by 8% to 72,300 units. Germany, with 27,100 vehicles (+11.5%) remained the most important market in Europe. Deliveries in the UK rose by 12.2%, and by 17% in Spain.
The strongest growth rate (+79% to 8,000 vehicles) was noted in the Middle East. Delivery numbers in Mexico climbed by 7.3% and by 0.1% in the Asia Pacific region. Sales fell in South America (minus 13.3%), Eastern Europe (minus 15.7%) and Africa (minus 21.7%). (ben)
