DHL building new Cologne station

DHL Express Germany has begun construction of a new operations site in the Cologne Marsdorf neighbourhood.

The facility, located on Toyota-Allee, will cover more than 20,000 m² and include 5,500 m² of production and office space. The EUR 40 million project features sustainable technology, including heat pumps, photovoltaic systems and green roofs.

The station will handle 6,000 parcels per hour and offer direct access for 78 delivery vehicles. The site will also include charging points for e-vehicles and 50 staff parking spaces. Around 250 employees will benefit from modern, ergonomic workstations and improved amenities.

CEO Mustafa Tonguç highlighted the reduced CO₂ footprint and improved processing times. The facility is designed to meet Tapa class A security standards and will connect the Cologne region more efficiently to DHL’s network.

Relocation from the current site is scheduled for late 2026.
