Driven by air cargo growth

BCT Aviation Maintenance has secured two new line maintenance contracts at East Midlands Airport (EMA). The agreements follow the airport’s recent growth in cargo activity.

Chinese carrier Central Airlines, operating twice-weekly Boeing 777F freighter flights on behalf of YunExpress, has appointed BCT to provide line maintenance at EMA. In parallel, Ethiopian Cargo and Logistics Services has also contracted BCT to support its twice-weekly B777F operations between the UK and China.

Both carriers have signalled plans to expand services, underlining EMA’s role as a gateway for international freighter traffic. Headquartered at EMA, BCT operates maintenance bases at five airports across the UK and Ireland. Technical director Chris Taylor noted that the company’s proactive maintenance approach helps maximise dispatch reliability and operational safety for customers. (ah)
