Drydocks delivers FPSO Emem for Nigeria's oil
Drydocks World has completed the full conversion and integration of the EMEM FPSO vessel, delivering a critical offshore asset to support Nigeria's Okwok field and boost the country's energy independence. The delivery was marked at a ceremony attended by key figures including CEO Rado Antolovic, Nigerian Minister Heineken Lokpobiri and Dr Muhammadu Indimi. The project involved major structural modifications, upgrades and the installation of 19 topside modules, transforming an oil tanker into a fully operational offshore production unit.
The EMEM FPSO, commissioned by World Carrier Corporation for Oriental Energy Resources Limited, will support the Okwok oil field, processing up to 70,000 barrels of liquids daily, managing 15 million standard cubic feet of gas, and storing up to one million barrels of crude. Expecting to operate continuously for 15 years, it is set to begin production in Q1 2026. This project underscores Drydocks World's expertise in offshore engineering and supports Nigeria's broader energy and industrial ambitions.
