Eco-friendly trucks for urban deliveries

Deutsche Post DHL Group (DPDHL) is stepping up its transition to heavy-duty electric trucks by deploying 44 new electric Volvo trucks on routes in Europe. The planned order includes 40 Volvo FE and Volvo FL electric trucks, which will be used for parcel deliveries in city traffic.

Electric trucks for longer routes are also part of the order. DHL will deploy them for regional transport, starting with four Volvo FM electric trucks in UK.

The first trucks have already been ordered, six by DHL Parcel UK and two by DHL Freight. This will save DPDHL Group around 600 t of CO2 and almost 225,000 litres of diesel fuel annually. (ben)
