EFW receives CAAC nod for narrowbody P2Fs
Elbe Flugzeugwerke (EFW) has secured approval from the Chinese aviation regulator CAAC for its A320 and A321 passenger-to-freighter (P2F) conversion programmes.
This latest certification complements the 2023 approval for A330P2Fs, enabling the Airbus JV to offer the full range of OEM-supported freighter conversions to Chinese operators.
According to CEO Jordi Boto, EFW expects growing demand for its standard-body P2Fs, especially in China and Southeast Asia. The A321P2F can carry over 28 t, the A320P2F over 21 t, both featuring fully containerised upper and lower decks. EFW has completed 19 A330 conversions for Chinese carriers and runs four conversion sites in China. The approval brings total validation for the A320/A321P2F to key markets worldwide, including Europe, the US and India. (ah)
