Emirates flying to Boston and set to serve Chicago
The Dubai (UAE)-based airline Emirates launched a further transatlantic link with the start of flights to Boston MA (USA) yesterday (10 March 2014). This is the airline's eighth route into the USA, its ninth into North America and twelfth into the wider Americas. The daily flight is operated by a GE-90 engine-powered Boeing B777-200LR.
Emirates is also about to say "hello Chicago", as it is commencing a daily service to Chicago's O'Hare international airport on 5 August 2014. The service will be operated by the same aircraft as above. The carrier has long wished to serve Chicago as, like Dubai, it is a major global trade and transportation hub, and the wider Chicago area is home to nearly 10 million people.
