Emirates orders five Boeing 777-200LR freighters

Emirates has placed a firm order for five new Boeing 777-200LR freighters, with two aircraft to be delivered in 2024 and the remaining three in 2025. The order, worth more than USD 1.7 billion after list prices, brings the airline's order book to a total of 200 wide-body aircraft.

"Emirates is investing in new full freighters to continue to meet customer demand with the latest fuel-efficient aircraft. The order reflects Emirates' confidence in air cargo demand and in the overall growth of the aviation sector. The order also lays the foundation for our continued growth," commented His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, chairman and chief executive, Emirates Airline and Group. (cj)
