Emirates reports surge in Kiwi exports

Emirates SkyCargo is witnessing increased demand for premium New Zealand exports as the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between the UAE and New Zealand takes effect. This landmark agreement is facilitating access for Kiwi producers to Middle Eastern markets, with Emirates SkyCargo providing reliable and fast transport for high-quality goods such as crayfish, lamb, cherries and orchids.

Emirates operates two daily flights to Dubai from New Zealand, complemented by two weekly freighter flights to Auckland, offering significant freight capacity for premium goods. NZ Bloom, a fresh-cut flower exporter, has reported a 50% year-on-year rise in demand for New Zealand orchids in Dubai, highlighting the UAE as a key growth market. With the elimination of import taxes, expectations for export volumes continue to rise. Emirates SkyCargo supports nearly 10,000 t of perishable exports yearly, connecting New Zealand to over 145 global destinations, thus enhancing trade opportunities under the new CEPA.
