Flying a mobile hospital from South to West Africa

Chapman Freeborn's cargo team recently completed an operation to transport vital Covid-19 medical equipment from Johannesburg, South Africa (JNB) to Conakry, Guinea. A mobile hospital which was explicitly designed for the Covid-19 pandemic and where up to 200 people can receive potential lifesaving treatment was loaded on a B747F at JNB.

With nearly three months of precise planning and collaboration, the team worked alongside the contracted forwarder BDJ Freight International, airlines, airports and freight forwarders to make this operation successful.

It was essential that communications which spanned across three regions (UK, South Africa and the UAE) were meticulous to ensure the consignment was safely delivered. The client reported thanked the partners for the "perfectly planned operation". (ah)
