FTA Ireland calls for action to combat illegal diesel

The Freight Transport Association Ireland (FTAI) has reported that the problem of the sale of illegal fuel in the Republic of Ireland is enormous. During a meeting with the country's minister for transport, tourism and sport, the association called on the government to take immediate action in order to combat the issue, which has seen millions of euros being made from illegal fuel sales. FTAI has outlined the enormous financial loss to the Irish Revenue through the use of illicit and washed diesel, saying that as a result the issue is causing huge damage to compliant operators.
