Geodis gains faster rate access
Geodis and Hapag-Lloyd have taken a further step in their digital collaboration with the deployment of a real-time contract application programming interface (API) linking the shipping line’s pricing platform with Geodis’ global rate database. The system-to-system connection enables the automated transfer of contracted rates, surcharges, transit times and service options. As a result, Geodis now has instant access to over 75% more Hapag-Lloyd rates than before according to its own information.
The shift from a manual processing time of up to five days to immediate availability aims to improve responsiveness and accuracy across the supply chain. "This implementation is more than a technical success – it demonstrates how digital collaboration benefits our customers by providing faster and more accurate data flows while enhancing efficiency and responsiveness," said Jan Naumann, head of export trade Europe, global ocean freight at Geodis.
